I love photographing newborns! While it may require plenty of patience, it’s so rewarding. Being able to capture new blessings in families brings joy to my heart! In the downtime of waiting for feedings, diaper changes, etc. with baby Colton, we thought it would be good opportunity to photograph Canaan in his backyard. We brought along the tent for some play time. You can see more of this family from this session.

Custom Designed Birth Announcement Accordion Card – Northwest Indiana Graphic Designer
Several months ago I was contacted by someone in Tennessee to design a birth announcement. By communicating via email and looking at images of the babies nursery, I was able to come up with a design that the client loved. Her photographer, Brandy Jaggers did an amazing job with the newborn photography, and the whole design came together perfectly. The bamboo paper gave a soft luxurious feel to the card, and we turned the orientation of the accordion card to better fit the images. I love how they turned out, and was glad for the opportunity to create something special for the new addition to the family.

After seeing a demand for baby announcement designs here at The Whimsy Tree, I’ve decided to create a couple custom designs for the store. I will be offering design services to finish the card with your own images. For now here’s a sneak peak of some inspirations, including some great finds from local antique stores such as, vintage baby bonnets, books, luggage and an old watch spring tin. I love finding vintage goodies that inspire me in design and also for session props.

Look what arrived in the mail this week! I custom designed this mini accordion album to go along with this little one’s nursery. The colors just so happen to be pretty similar to my website colors, so I of course love them! You can see more images from the newborn session here.
