“There is such a place as fairyland – but only children can find the way to it. And they do not know that it is fairyland until they have grown so old that they forget the way. One bitter day, when they seek it and cannot find it, they realize what they have lost; and that is the tragedy of life. On that day the gates of Eden are shut behind them and the age of gold is over. Henceforth they must dwell in the common light of common day. Only a few, who remain children at heart, can ever find that fair, lost path again; and blessed are they above mortals. They, and only they, can bring us tidings from that dear country where we once sojourned and from which we must evermore be exiles. The world calls them its singers and poets and artists and story-tellers; but they are just people who have never forgotten the way to fairyland.” ― L.M. Montgomery
I’m almost 32, and still have not forgotten my way to fairyland. Some people might call it their …happy place, …a light hearted attitude, …or an imaginative way of thinking. For me it’s a daily decision to think on things pure and lovely …worthy of praise. Finding joy and delight in the detail of a flower, the colors in a sunset or sunrise, laughter… A good mocha, a book that you can’t put down, a good old fashion floral print… The game that light plays in the forest, the tiny fingernails of a newborn, seeing the love of a child and mother, the sound of Lake Michigan, and reminiscing with family. I’m beginning to find how important light hearted Mirth is. How important laughter and joy is in my life. Mirth to me is deep rooted joy. If you were to do a search for joy in the bible, you would see an overwhelming amount of it! We really are suppose to be a joyful people! I’m such a serious person, and I suppose that’s why God paired me with someone who loves laughter and deep thought. That’s why we’ve (Nathan and I), have decided to say goodbye to The Whimsy Tree… It’s been an adventurous season in my life and I’ve grown a lot through out. I’ve met some very great people that I now consider to be friends. I’ve seen a lot of success and shared in creating memories for some lovely families and couples. God has moved me down a new path….
With that, I’m saying hello to a new adventure for Nathan and I, Mirth and Whimsy, LLC. It’s going to be our creative endeavors, not just mine. God created both of us with such complimenting and similar talents, and it seems strange not to use them together as a pair…a team. Nathan (Mirth) and I (Whimsy). Psalm 119:2 NLT
“Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.” Mirth and Whimsy will be our outlet for sharing our creative works, our love for God’s word, and forming connections with like-minded people. Let us know if you have any questions about our services/talents (photography, videography, design, handmade, events, making music, etc.). We’d love to hear from you! With that, we’ll be gently merging everything to our new website Mirth and Whimsy. Click here to see the new website! You may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org …or check out our new facebook page.
It’s midweek and the weather has turned coooooold. I’m currently in two sweaters, and dreaming of a Temple mocha. What do you do to warm up during these frigid months? Hot bath? Electric blanket? Trip to Florida? Anyway…
This week I’m featured on BP4U. Be sure to check it out because it has a few images that I’ve been keeping secret until our big news…which we are now projecting to be released in January. Since we’ve bought our dream house, we’ve also had to push back some other projects to make time for renovations. But it’s okay! I’m enjoying every minute of it. Even the shoe wearing – dog “accidentally” peeing inside daily – scary bathroom – dry wall dust everywhere… moments.
Here’s an image shown on the BP4U blog… alright stop reading and go see >> The Whimsy Tree Featured
I can’t believe how quickly the fall foliage has come and gone. I’m already missing that warm sunshine and green grass. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been very good about updating the blog. You’ll see most of our recent work on the business facebook page. You might want to Like us if you haven’t already because we have huge changes coming.
Here are a couple image from a twin senior session last week. We really had to hunt for leaves!
We had the most beautiful light for this session… So dreamy… <3
Fall is approaching quickly which means it is the perfect time to schedule a Fall Session. The last several weeks have been full of high school senior sessions, and I am soooo behind in blogging. If you follow me on Facebook you might have seen a number of updates that have not yet made it to the Storybook blog. New blogs are coming, I promise! For now, here’s one image from a North Judson senior session a couple days ago. It was suppose to be a rainy day, and look how it turned out! See more this evening on the Facebook page.
