A look back at 2012
It’s nearing 2013 and I thought it would be appropriate to take a look back at 2012. I’m so blessed to have such great clients, and its always wonderful to meet and work with so many different families. The good Lord blessed me with another great year and I’m eagerly anticipating all that the new year brings.

Late Fall Family Session – north judson knox family photographer
Just about all leaves had fallen, and the air was chilly, but this family was full of fun. When greenery has left us we can always look for those lovely tall grasses for pretty scenery. They provide the perfect place to play in. We began just before sunset and ended with that pretty pink twilight afterglow. Here are some of my favorites from the session.

{ North Judson Photographer } Session at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum
What a fun location for a little one’s/maternity session! Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson was the perfect place for this family. There were plenty of places to explore and all the bright colors made it all the more interesting. I’m so glad the mom suggested it! Because the location was already so rich with things to keep a toddler busy, I scaled down on the props. I brought along a vintage suitcase, a quilt, and a few cars from my dads vintage train set. Although I live in North Judson, and had passed by the station numerous times, I had not actually stopped to see how cool the place was. I think this handsome toddler had a blast exploring!

Family Session { Potato Creek } Northwest Indiana Family Photographer
When Asher had turned 6 months old, the family not only continued with his “grow with me” sessions, but thought it was the opportune time to also do some portraits for the whole family. The location we decided upon was a state park in North Liberty called Potato Creek. I hadn’t been there in years, but remembered it having a big lake and bike trails. It has a lot more to see than what I remembered, and turned out to be an awesome location. His adorable sister Braelyn was a big helper. It has been a blast to watch Asher grow. I’ve photographed him as a newborn, a 3 month old, and now 6 months. I’ll also be following him all the way to 12 months, so expect two more sessions with this growing family. If you’re interested in a “grow with me” package you can email me at elicia@thewhimsytree.com, or fill out the contact form on the bottom of the home page.
The family also wanted to announce some news… their having baby #3!
