This little lady has to be one of the most adorable babies ever! I made a little dress for her 9 month session, out of a vintage sheet and vintage table runner. She looked like a little doll with her vintage bonnet and flutter sleeves. While she felt a little out of place in the grassy Norwayne Field, with the help of some cheerleaders, we made the best of her absolute cuteness and lovely sunset lighting.

My cousin Georgia is the closest thing I have to a sister. When we heard about the Boston bombings, I sent a shaky text to see that she was okay. Honestly I could have blubbered when I heard she was fine. She’s a runner. She’s a runner who’s I knew was planning on trying to qualify for the 2014 Boston marathon. She could have been there. She was in fact there at the marathon, but had left and made it home before she had even heard about the bombing. Thank God.

Even though there’s a little bit of an age difference between us, I’m still young at heart, love coffee shops, and many other things she loves. In fact she’s been doing a bit of photography, check out her blog. Unfortunately during her entire visit, my vehicle was in terrible cahoots, so the day before she left we finally were able to meet up for a sunset session on a lake, and some Mucho Mas. I love the little pockets of light we were able to find, and that dress! Red is your color Georgia!

I came across this quote from George MacDonald (a favorite author), and it felt just right for how I’ve been feeling. Let me be a busy bee, content in my work and forgetful of the things I have not, grateful for what I do have.

“Let me, if I may, be ever welcomed to my room in winter by a glowing hearth, in summer by a vase of flowers. If I may not, let me think how nice they would be and bury myself in my work. I do not think that the road to contentment lies in despising what we have not got. Let us acknowledge all good, all delight that the worlds holds, and be content without it.”

― George MacDonald

I understood that every flower created by Him is beautiful, that the brilliance of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not lessen the perfume of the violet or the sweet simplicity of the daisy. I understood that if all the lowly flowers wished to be roses, nature would no longer be enamelled with lovely hues. And so it is in the world of souls, Our lord’s living garden.

As I briefly mentioned in a previous post, I said I would be sharing little details of the changes to come.

I’m going to be changing the 2 mini accordions that currently come with sessions to… a 10×10 canvas wrap! I see so many clients miss out on how gorgeous and timeless canvas wraps are, so this is one way of promoting that. Say goodbye to the mini’s!

(Mini accordions will still be available to order. Any clients currently on the 2013 calendar up until the new website launches will receive the mini accordion album set with their session).

ps. I know my rubber logo stamp is due for some special cleaning, but I won’t be needing it anymore so I didn’t see the need in it. ;)
