When I’m able to photograph a family over an extended period of time, I always love seeing how children grow. Here’s what my 2 hours with this little one was like…

Malia, age two. Enjoys finding cookies and milk. She doesn’t cry over spilled milk, in-fact she might see it as an opportunity to hydrate the grass.  She’s a big girl. She’s quite serious, but quite silly. She’s terribly sweet just like her momma. Oh that smile. Loves checking on her horses. Loves to explore. A big fan of balloons.

I love watching this family grow.

Things have been getting uber busy, but here is a sneak peek of Malia’s session. More to come!

Today I’m prepping for an evening session with one cute toddler. Remember this little one? She’s now two! These images are from her first one year session, and you can see more here.

When Asher had turned 6 months old, the family not only continued with his “grow with me” sessions, but thought it was the opportune time to also do some portraits for the whole family. The location we decided upon was a state park in North Liberty called Potato Creek. I hadn’t been there in years, but remembered it having a big lake and bike trails. It has a lot more to see than what I remembered, and turned out to be an awesome location. His adorable sister Braelyn was a big helper. It has been a blast to watch Asher grow. I’ve photographed him as a newborn, a 3 month old, and now 6 months. I’ll also be following him all the way to 12 months, so expect two more sessions with this growing family. The family also wanted to announce some news… their having baby #3!

Several months ago I was contacted by someone in Tennessee to design a birth announcement.  By communicating via email and looking at images of the babies nursery, I was able to come up with a design that the client loved. Her photographer, Brandy Jaggers did an amazing job with the newborn photography, and the whole design came together perfectly. The bamboo paper gave a soft luxurious feel to the card, and we turned the orientation of the accordion card to better fit the images. I love how they turned out, and was glad for the opportunity to create something special for the new addition to the family.
