Summer Vacation { Local }

While many of my family members left for a yearly trip to Manistee, Michigan - one of my absolute favorite vacation spots, we stayed home. We decided to stay local this year and besides getting somethings done for an art show, we managed a trip to the beach, went to an imax 3d movie, made some candy, and went blueberry picking.

This was our second year getting berries from Bonnell’s and we alway love that we can go pick our own. For those of you who haven’t picked blueberries before, it really is enjoyable and might even be a fun family event. While most of the berries we picked went right to the freezer, I reserved a bowlful to munch on and contemplate on whether I wanted to bake a fresh blueberry pie, however, they didn’t make it. Turns out you can’t just eat one, but rather, they must be eaten by the handful. I think going away for summer vacation can be overrated, staycations really aren’t too bad. You might even try picking blueberries.
